Pro & Contra of Trive

What are the pros & cons of Trive?

What we like about Trive

What we liked about Trive is their modern website. It is not cluttered with information and easy to navigate. With more than 5500 tradable instruments, Trive offers a wide range of trading assets. The spreads are lower than with most other brokers. Traders can choose from MT4, MT5 and a proprietary webtrader.

  • +5500 trading assets
  • CFD futures available
  • Low spreads
  • Solid trading platforms

What we dislike about Trive

Trive charges fees for some forms of deposit and withdrawal. The majority of traders will be satisfied with the product offer but some traders will miss cryptocurrencies. In our test we failed to get a live chat going, but that is probably just a temporary issue. Trive does not have a clear stance on negative balance protection, even though traders in EU have a legal right to it.

  • Uncertain Balance Protection
  • Potential banking fees
  • No cryptocurrencies
  • Live Chat Error
Available Instruments at Trive

Available trading instruments at Trive

In addition to stocks and ETFs, Trive offers trading of leveraged products. The largest selection is in the form of CFDs, which allow traders to speculate on the price movements of indices, commodities, cryptocurrencies, and stocks without actually owning the underlying asset. Currently, only leading cryptocurrencies such as Bitcoin, Ethereum, Litecoin, Cardano, and Bitcoin Cash are available for trading. A wider selection of assets is available in the indices and stocks categories, although it should be noted that Trive currently only offers a small, hand-selected range compared to other trading brokers. Trading is possible on global markets such as Germany, Spain, the US, UK, France, and the Netherlands. Trive also offers a broad range of currencies for trading, including major, minor, exotic, and other currencies.

The list of tradable instruments includes:

  • +40 FX pairs
  • +15 indices
  • +6 commodities
  • +1500 ETF
  • +4000 stocks

Trive offers competitive trading fees compared to other brokers. The spreads for different assets, such as the DAX index, gold, and EUR/USD currency pair, are low and do not come with additional commissions (Expect for PrimePlus accounts). For example, the spread for the DAX starts at 0.5 points, while the spread for gold starts at 0.2 points and the spread for EUR/USD starts at 0.1 points (with commissions). It is important to note that the spreads may vary depending on the account type that a customer has with Trive. Customers should check the specific spreads and fees for their account to understand the cost of trading with the broker.

How can I open an account with Trive?

By regulation, every new client must go through some basic compliance checks to ensure that you understand the risks of trading and are admitted to trading. When you open an account, you will probably be asked for the following items, so it is good to have them handy: A scanned colour copy of your passport or national ID A utility bill or bank statement from the last six months with your address You will also need to answer a few basic compliance questions to confirm how much trading experience you have. It is therefore best to take at least 10 minutes to complete the account opening process. Although you can explore the demo account immediately, it is important to note that you cannot make any real trading transactions until you have passed compliance, which can take up to several days depending on your situation.
